Nashville Pussy at Marquee Theatre December 30, 2007 with Reverend Horton Heat & Lemmy

For a decade, Nashville Pussy, with their short, catchy songs, heavy and plentiful guitars, humor, and clever lyrics, has been rocking trailers in tri-state areas all over the country. They rock with a the style and celebration of the biker-babe and truck stop metal. Their music can also fit into a category of music known as psychobilly.

Atlanta-based sleaze rockers Nashville Pussy are led by husband-and-wife duo of singer/guitarist Blaine Cartwright and guitarist Ruyter Suys; joined by bassist Corey Parks(sister of NBA star Cherokee Parks), and drummer Jeremy Thompson, the group,( named in reference to a line from Ted Nugent’s Double Live Gonzo LP) debuted in 1998 with the album Let Them Eat Pussy.

They were nominated for a Grammy for best metal performance for their song Fried Chicken and Coffee.

Nashville Pussy are hands down, sexy, fast and loud. Additionally, their shows involve: fire breathing, woman-on-woman french-kissing, lots of leather, spitting, and tattoos. The music is very Motorhead-influenced. Nashville Pussy have mastered an image of glamorous grittiness both in form and function. They belong to the grunge generation, but, whereas Seattle bands went back to almost the hard-rock of Black Sabbath, Nashville Pussy deal with the gutsy hard-rock of AC/DC and true to their name, their show is laden with quasi-porno antics by the two female members: guitarist Ruyler Suys and bassist Corey Parks. The attention to detail in their appearance can only be matched by their amazing on stage performances. Blaine rips through lyrics to songs like "Go Motherfucker Go" and "I'm the Man", while Corey blows fire, spit and smoke over the ultra-enthusiastic audience.

The band has put out 5 albums that include 1998’s Let Them eat Pussy, Eat more Pussy, High as Hell(00) Say Something Nasty(02) and Get Some!(05)
